Hooked up the LS1/4L60E PCM brake signal, seems happier
In the rush to get the car running in early September, I didn't get around to hooking up some of the "nice-to-haves", or so I called them. Finally hooked up the signal to the PCM for the brake status (12v + = brake "off"), discovered the '86 cruise control switch already did that. Spliced it into the PCM line, TCC lock-up is much better now.
Still need to hook up the Cable X box to get the speedometer working, SES (MIL) light, and OBD II port. Should get to those this week.

Tonight, hopefully. If the light is on, I'll retrieve the codes.
