LSX oil leak
Got to ask a question. i have a first year block (LSX), the back plate on the rear of the motor is leaking after 20 seconds of run time at idle.
The 3 bolts on the driver side or (left) have oil lines coming from them. These are the ones frome the bottome of the oil pan up. I have done everything the builder asked but still leaks...I was wondering if I could put air to the oil galley to see if the bolt holes will bubble when air is put to the block. Before I send the motor back....the bolts are backed buy a galley and my belief is that there is a crack. I have used anarobic goo on the bolts and it still bleeds....so anybody have any suggestions..
the seal, rear main, the oil redirection plug and everything else has been went through and not messed up..

Re: LSX oil leak
Post up on 'tech. You and Neil are the only LSX guys I know of
LSX blocks have a different rear cover than other LSx engines so something had to have changed. For LSx blocks, theres an oil galley plug that goes in there, but you shouldnt build oil pressure at all without it. IIRC the cover bolts should be blind depth and not go into anything oil related, but again this is LSx stuff, not LSX like you've got
