LT1 W/C T-5 compabilities

i have read a few post that it is possible to bolt up an lt1 to a world class t-5 i want to know if it will work without any problems?

i read that you would have to change the clutch and all the accesories from the third gen to the lt1, if thats the case would the starter be from a thirdgen or an lt1-equiped vehicle thanks

Re: LT1 W/C T-5 compabilities

My LT1 bolted up just fine, I used my flywheel from my 305tbi then got a really good clutch kit for my old engine/transmission combo. I had too get a pilot bearing from the parts store but everything worked great.

I believe you can use either starter, but the LT1 starter is much more compact and leaves more room for the passenger side header.

Re: LT1 W/C T-5 compabilities

glad to know thanks
sorry for all the questions but since you did it on yours i would like to know how you wired yours up,as for the wiring off course you have to use the ecm from the lt1 and the ecm has to be from a manual car correct, as for the wiring with the w\c t-5 stays the same ? how about the motor monts?

THANKS!!!

Re: LT1 W/C T-5 compabilities

Well my LT1 was from a 93, the 93 used the same VSS as the my 92 T5 did. As far as any newer pcm you need use the output housing and VSS from the 4th gen T5
