LT4

Has anybody swapped in an LT4. I know a lot of guys do LT1 but I was curious about LT4. If so , some pics would be sweet.

It is only a LT1 with special parts so the swap is no different
Put the LT4 engine covers on a LT1 , paint the intake red and few would know the difference

agreed. The main differences are inside.

bigger cam
better heads with larger valves
rocker arms
different piston and rings
28lb injectors
better intake (red)
roller timing set
better crank
4 bolt main with stronger caps

..and a few other little things like teflon rear main, better head gaskets...etc. You could easily mod a regular LT1 to smoke a LT4, its just being a real "LT4" is why I would love to have one. I have never seen one in a third gen. Unless someone really wanted one, its kind of a expensive swap for just 30 more hp.

Re: LT4

30 hp is what GM claimed. Most LT4 Vettes will dyno just shy of 300 at the wheels and run high 12s bone stock all day long, whereas LT1 Vettes pull 13.6s.

Re: LT4

I don't think they would be much more expensive then an LT1. It is just finding one. Saws a gut in england selling one complete for 1200 puonds which I think is around 3K. I also saw a guy claiming to have a vette he was selling thi 78K miles for 6500 with an LT5. Though I would have gto claim BS on that one

Apart from the red intake manifold, what difference are you expecting to see?

That is excactly what I want to see. I want to see the red intake inside a third gen camaro engine bay. I just like to look at engines.
