ha ha yes i did get the motor for 4k, I actually bought it from a guy who won the motor. A little risky since I didn't know the guy, but you can tell this motor has never been fired still had all the factory gm tape and oil with the blank pan. I won't be able to put some pics up until the 16th but i will see if my dad can shoot some pics for me earlier.

Makes sense now. I would say you got a heck of a deal on that.

Re: LSX Swap Finishing

Here is a picture with the coils. I am just finishing up making the wires. Monday the car goes to the exhaust shop in the morning, then off to tuning in LA. I actually bought the double hump hawks 4l60 crossmember and modifying it to fit a 700r4 trans. Here is a more current picture with the coils mounted and connected. Name: PICT1150.jpg

Re: LSX Swap Finishing

Yes i cut both sides to make sure it was centered. With my last set up i had long tubes but it was just terrible ground clearance always bottoming out. Plus I needed to tuck up two high flow cats up there too. I have only two pic's from the tow truck taking it to the dyno shop. It really doesnt do justice though. by the way my car is lowered 1 1/2 inches.

Re: LSX Swap Finishing

Time to get a hawks trans x-member. Why not put the cats after the headers?

Re: LSX Swap Finishing

They angle i took the picture makes it appear lower than it is. I am using the hawks crossmember it's modified to fit a 700r4 transmission. I tried to put the cats closer to the headers, there just wasn't enough room. My exhaust, I doubt it will hardly scrape compared to my last setup. I have stiff suspension too.

You wouldnt happen to know the spring rates would you? And I keep hearing about this hawks crossmember.. is it good? I cannot seem to find it on there website.

Re: LSX Swap Finishing

I am running hotchkis springs, with agx shocks set at the firmest setting. there is not a 700r4 crossmember made by hawks yet. Although they did tell me they are currently working on one into production. My crossmember was a 4l60 cut and modified to fit a 700r4 trans.
