Wiring question..

So I did read the stickies but I couldn't find the answer to this. So I have a complete 2001 Trans Am donor car, but I sold the T-56 and I'm going with a 4l60-e. I needed the money. So my question is that since I am using the LS1, the ls computer,, the rear end, and the guages from the trans am. Can I just use the wiring harness from the trans am? other than removing the t56 wiring and relpacing it with a wire set for a 4l60e. I know I have to get the computer reprogrammed to remove vats and stuff but other than that would this work? Just wondering so I don't have to buy a $750 wiring harness.

Thanks for all the help!

It is possible to just get a 4L60E pigtail and repin the harness with it, however I'm not sure whether you can still use the manual trans ECM or not. Can someone chime in with an answer for this?

Re: Wiring question..

You'll need a LS1/4L60E tune on the ECM, the LS1/T56 tune wont work

As high of a demand anything labeled T56 brings, swapping the T56 harness for a 4L60E one shouldnt be difficult and may even net you a few bucks. FWIW, Fbody harnesses go for $150-250 on LS1tech
