Re: 350 for LS motor??

You do realize that swapping to an LS1 is going to cost a lot more than fixing your cooling problem right? (assuming you don't need a new block or anything like that). If it's just hoses or gaskets, it's a lot cheaper to fix what you've got. This isn't the only reason you are contemplating doing the swap is it? There's gotta be another reason otherwise I can see this one being a swap that's never finished.

I say get the car to a good mechanic and correct your current cooling issues.
Study up on the costs and complexities of an LS swap.
If you decide to go ahead with the swap, save up the expected expenses while locating a highly recommended LS engine/ swap mechanic.
If you get all those ducks in a row, go for it.

Re: 350 for LS motor??

gotta agree with the other responses - an LSx swap is awesome, but its a lot more expensive then just replacing some cooling system parts. There is a lot of time and money needed to do this swap the right way. Even being "frugal" puts you in for a few thousand and a lot of time waiting for deals.

Get the issues you're having now cleared up so you can drive the car and then start reseaching and buying parts for the swap

Sort of like asking "I have trouble mopping my floor, would building a new house solve this problem?"

I posted some advice in your Cooling thread, take a look and follow up w/ results.
