There are several ways to completely get rid of the optispark. People have made LT1's run off of TPI computer with rear TPI HEI distributor, LSX computers with rear vortec distributor, and LSX computers with coil packs, and no computer with vacuum style rear distributor in a carb setup. Any way you choose to get completely rid of the optispark, the LT1 computer will no longer be needed. Even in the coilpack conversion, a rear vortec dizzy can be used but only part used on it will be the cam sensor on the dizzy. I myself have tried to put the LT1 optispark sensor in a HEI dizzy but have found that a LSX computer and vortec dizzy would be easier, more reliable, probably cheaper.
Which would you like to know how to do? I can tell you the LS1 coil pack conversion is the best spark/fuel setup but also the most expensive, LSX Vortec conversion is 2nd best and cheaper.
