25% Underdrive Pulley
Anybody run one? From doing some searching it seems like a solid 8-10 RWHP upgrade. Alot of people are saying to go with SLP/Powerbond and stay away from ASP. Thoughts? I am just running the stock Vette Balancer.

Re: 25% Underdrive Pulley
I bought a powerbond yesterday.. The asp is lighter but id rather have the taller belt ridges the powerbond/slp balancer offer.. and the real hp gain comes from the underdrive itself.. Imo you wouldnt feel a 1.5 lb difference between the two.

Re: 25% Underdrive Pulley
I'm not all that sure what % of underdrive it is and I'm not even sure what brand it is but my motor had an underdrive pulley on it when I got it. Haven't been able to dyno the car yet but here is a pic of the pulley. Car hasn't gotten a lot of street time yet but I did rev the crap out of it and the belt never came off....

I've got a 25% UD PowerBond on my car. I can't tell you what the RWHP gain is because it was on there from the get-go.

I have one on my car, didn't notice a difference from it beforehand, but I guess every bit helps

Re: 25% Underdrive Pulley
Is anyone having any cooling issues running an underdrive pulley?

Re: 25% Underdrive Pulley
most people doing the swap are running a cam and steeper rear gears so the motor is turning more rpm anyways. No cooling issues here, but I'm running a brand new water pump, radiator, etc

Re: 25% Underdrive Pulley
i have the bbk underdrives, and notice no cooling issues at all, but i am dealing with horrible charging issues though. then if i swap to a higher amperage alternator, i think it will just add more load to the equation and completely disregard it even bieng underdriven. lol so idk what i should do. but as for dyno numbers, idk either because they were on before the tune.
