What do any of you run to control the LS motors. I am looking for one to control both fuel and spark and want it to be tuneable. I was looking at the Painless Perfect kit with the software-any opinions on this or other companies?

 

Any PCM from a LSx vehicle that supports your goals. No reason to go aftermarket, stock stuff is quite powerful

so how does one go about using stock pcm?

 

you would purchase one of the kits Pocket recommended and log your vehicle being driven in as many different driving situations as possible. then you take the data recorded, make adjustments to different fuel/spark tables, upload the data, and repeat. you get more accurate tuning with the help of a wideband oxygen sensor.

or you take it to a dyno, where they do a similar process in a more controlled environment.
