Regarding wiring harness - LT1 swap
87 v6 5 speed. I wanna put an lt1 in it... Now do i need to take out the entire wiring harness and computer? Or is the fuel injector wiring detachable from the harness?

re: Regarding wiring harness - LT1 swap
the whole passnager side harness needs to come out with the ecu. the lt1s ecu and wiring harness will replace it, if you keep the lt1 fuel injected. the driver side harness is left alone as well as the ac harness that comes out of the firewall by the ac box. theres are a fw wires that cross over from the passanger side harness to the driver side harness. youll have to fish them out and seperate them.
youll also need a new transmission since the v-6 trans wont bolt to the lt1.

passenger side harness needs to come out and driver side one has to be modified. i highly recommend checking out the LSx/LTx subforum for posts by Pocket; he's laid out all the info you need to wire these cars up and is very knowledgeable on the subject
