lt1 swap headers???

Ok so I am upgrading my 83 berlinetta once again goin lt1 but I'm curious if I can use my oval port headers I know that the lt1 has D ports but wanna know if someone has used different gaskets (for D ports) and not have issues or if an adapter can be made I really don't wanna buy new headers my exhaust system is virtually new

Most 1-5/8" primary headers will cover the D-ports.

Which headers do you have? You may want to consider welding a bead around the tubes on the outer side of the flange and then gasket matched the flanges. You may need to redo the gasket sealing surfaces on the inside of the flange afterward.

i have a set of summit racing headers on it, and why weld outside the flange? is it cause its a common leaking point?

Just get headers with 1 3/4" primaries and you'll be fine. If it'll fit a TPI car, it'll fit an LT1.

Heck, my Hooker 2055 shorties with 1 5/8th" primaries work fine.
