ls1 VATS

Anyone using the stock Thirdgen VATS module to run the LS1 PCM? I think im going to change the tune on mine so that it enables with the 3rd gen signal. I'm pretty sure its 30hz. Just curious if anyone else has taken the time to do this little extra security. my thought is its already there and im capable of changing the tune to match the signal so why not

Re: ls1 VATS

Its not compatible. You can however, leave the 3rd gen VATS intact, but remove the starter relay trigger and move the fuel pump ground trigger to it

I wouldnt put alot of faith in VATS as a fail safe antitheft system. Its too easy to overcome. Having a unique system is better, like the reed switch discussed in the electronics forum

why wont it work? you can tune the pcm to work at the 30 hz signal

I just figure if its there its added security easy to overcome yes but some kids trying to take the car is at least enough to slow them down vs pealing the column
