To buy or not, LS1 t70 turbo

Found a great deal on an 89 Iroc with a 5.3 ls1 with a T70 turbo on it. Ran 11.21 with 8 lbs boost. Guy stated any more boost that the tranny does not hold. Price is really nice. Car in good shape but could use a paint job. how are these going for. The motor has 130K on it.

Sounds fun to me. Do you know what trans and rear-end is in it and do you have any pics of the car or from under the hood so we could see if its a hack job? Price will depend on the previously stated. Care to share what a really nice price is?

Doesnt look like a hack job to me. Any rust? Is it full of bondo? you can check the body with a magnet. If it just needs a paint job I say do it. Find a better thanny and up the boost.

You wont come close to building it for that $$$ so if it runs and drives nice and the work looks to be done well Id say its a bargain too.

Buy it

sounds like a good deal. I guess even if the engine or trans went they are cheap enough you still would be ahead.

for that price what rear is in it? 10 bolt?
