'91 Trans Am Vert 5.3 and T56. Second swap has started.

I did a LS1+T56 swap to my '87 Iroc, and what a difference to what it used to be with a 5.7tpi+TH700! Engine and tranny are from '02 f-body. All stock LS1, just Hawks longtube headers and SLP maf. Dynoed 362hp with stock tune.

Camaro is such a blast to drive compared to my second 3rd gen, '91 Trans Am Convertible with a wimpy 5.0tpi. Nothing else to do, but make a somewhat similar swap to Trans Am. Im going to use a 5.3 Truck-LS engine with a T56 tranny from a '02 F-body.

And here's the Trans Am. Quite rough around the edges, but nothing major...

And a bunch of "new" LS stuff.

And the old stuff is coming out of the car, no more lazy automatics!
5.3 liter is going to have a Comp XR269HR and a LS6 valvesprings, otherwise stock.

Progress will be quite slow...

Nice cars for sure! Good luck on the second swap, can't wait to see the bird runnning.

Quick question, what air intake are you running on the camaro? I have a speed density tune and would like that setup as it seems like its more of a "ram air" type. Thanks!

Im using the stock TPI air intake with K&N filters in the Camaro. I tested it in the dyno, with it and with out it, no restriction there. I was little surprised, but happy with it.

Some nice performance parts for the little 5.3 liter.
LS6 intake and a Comp Cam XR269HR.

I think you're the only person I've ever heard say the TPI intake can flow enough...

I think he's talking about the tubing, not the actual TPI intake....unless he found a way to swap a TPI intake onto a 5.3..............

Sorry, I presumed that since I quoted his post that said 'TPI air intake with K&N filters' and his second picture posted shows a factory TPI air duct that I didn't have to specify. To be more clear, every car I've seen dyno'd with the Camaro ducting has seen tremendous gains by ditching it.
