Wiring loom

I got my harness in (shitty work) and it wasnt loomed
So I was lookin at a few options for covering up the 20 miles of black electrical tape.

http://www.polyperformance.com/rally...=RALLYproducts

I would really like to use this stuff. Its kinda like a cloth nylon cover but im not sure how hard it would be to get over the connectors and how I would go about branching wires off of it, by that i mean if I was to use it on the injector harness how would I brach off of the main harness to each injector clip? I assume that this type of covering isnt made for that.

http://www.cabletiesandmore.com/blackloom.php#per_foot

There is also this type of loom but it has been done 1,000,000,000 times and I dont really like the look of it.

Any one have exp. using the cloth type covering?

Re: Wiring loom

The polyperformance stuff looks awesome. I have something similar at work, and will be using it with my LS swap also. Not too expensive either, but a little more difficult to add onto your harness later since you can't just spread the look open at any point to cut/test/add later. Overall I say go for it.

I don't see any white, so I'm going to email them to see if they can get any.

Re: Wiring loom

I run the nylon braided stuff on mine, looks much cleaner than the split loom plastic stuff. Although this season the goal is to hide a lot more wires than in the past, so probably run it under the frame rails possibly

Re: Wiring loom

I want to reloom with that nylon stuff as well. I assumed I would have to de-pin the connectors. I think there are tools out there to make that easier...but I never have luck pulling the connector pins out.

My harness is too complete to tear it apart all together.

You guys that have that nylon kind..did you use zip ties at the ends or just leave it loose?

I seen that you can use shrink tube. I think that would look freakin sweet and super clean.

Not sure about all the manufacturers but I imagine they are similar. This one can be installed over existing bundles without de-pinning and removing connectors due to the interlock split in it.

Re: Wiring loom

most of that nylon tubing has a slit cut into it that folds over the wires, no depinning necessary

Re: Wiring loom

Oooooh... I didnt realize that stuff had a split to it. I thought it was a complete sleeve. Well that makes it easier... I think Im going to order some up before I do the new install.

I forgot about the heat shrink method!!! Thats right...I have seen that. And it looks great. Thanks for that reminder!

Great...another project on my list haha.

Re: Wiring loom

I purchased Techflex F6 from a store on Ebay. They had most of the different colors as well. Techflex F6 is split for easy install on existing harnesses. Havnt installed mine yet. I can get the link to the store if needed.

This is the stuff that I've been looking at too. I saw it in my Parts Express catalog and have been looking for experiences from folks that used it for engine harnesses.

I am not planning to put the loom on the harness unitl I come home on leave from Korea later this year. I plan to install one of the UMI K's and control arm packages then. Then I will Install the motor and place harness and terminate my fuse/ relay center. Still debating on where I would like that to be. Thinking on top of my AC delete panel with some sort of water shield. Then I will install the F6 stuff.

Not sure how I am going to terminate the ends of the loom. Maybe with the harness tape I ve seen. I ve seen folks terminate the loom ends with tie wraps and heat shrink. Like the looks of the heat shrink, but that would require the connectors to be de-pinned, I would assume. Harness tape wouldnt be too bad if wrapped neatly and properly.
