Finally got it running after 4 years and dam I cant wait for spring

Well a long story short Ive been without a 3rdgen for 4 to 5 years now as Ive gone for 3 shells. Everytime they get better till I found the last one that is mint and next to zero rust. LOL hard thing to find up here in Canada for sure. Also have gone thru a few motor ideas in that time till a friend parted out his 87 iroc so I ended up buyin half his car mostly for the motor. So its taken me the last 6 to 8 months to get it in the car and now its running. I have to thank my friends for all their help and my wife for putting up with all the time spent on it.

Heres a short video I did on the first start up. Hope you guys like it. I still got quite a few things to finish up to make it driveable.

Two things though:

1. That steering wheel cover has GOT TO GO hahaha

2. Turbo cam but no turbo?

Ah man, you gotta know that thing's vintage. Probably been with the car since it was new.
On second thought, yeah, it's gotta go.

Oh that wheel is going for sure as its a 13inch and its too small and looks like ***. It was free so I cant complain too much. Still serching for a wheel I like tho

Yeah the motor was gonna be goin in a friends camaro that was gonna be turbo set up. He decided to buy a vette and sell off everything he had so i got the motor as it was. The pan is already set up and all i would need to do is get a turbo set up and im good to go. Maybe in the future but for now why not run it. See what I can get out of it and have fun as Ive been without this car for 4+ years now and all I want is to enjoy it finally

Thats a good question as Im a die hard GTA rim guy. I dont care what anyone says Im sold on them or a set of ronals. I want to keep it stck looking as well as theres too much crap that goes on up here. The less it sticks out the better. It will already be uber loud when I put the loudmouth system on. Im gonna make a set of custom caps as well that say "Iroc"on them. Will be using blank GTA new caps and new iroc center caps which my gonna cut to size and put them in

That is exactly what I put in mine, made by Cam (I assume that's who's doing yours too), mine has the 9" axle tubes and I went with the Cobra part number for the ford racing trac-lok posi. It was the same price as the standar posi unit but has carbon fiber clutches so it only makes sense to go with it instead of the standard peice I dont have a girdle yet but I will get one later this year!

Like 6SIX6 mentioned before, he bought the engine from someone else built exactly the way it is.

The motor is fully forged and built for boost and came with the TU2 cam. This motor should have NO problem making 10XX RWHP with a turbo, but without it, it should still push out over 4XX+ RWHP, even with that cam.

A good deal is a good deal, right?

Thanks for the info and yeah Cam is building mine and it helps he 20min away from me LOL. I got a standard posi right now and looks like it will do the job for the time being as I got to cut down on spending $$$$ on it for now as I want to drop some coin into fixing some stuff around the house first. I can alwas upgrade the posi later on down the road
