Hawks exhaust

I was wondering if anyone is using Hawks full exhaust and header kit and how well it fits and how much ground clearence I will lose? I have a 91 firebird gta with 2000 ls1 and m6. I'm getting to the point that the exhaust is holding me back on making anymore power so I have to do somthing.

Re: Hawks exhaust

I have Hawks Stainless Works 1 3/4 headers on my car. They fit perfectly! The car isn't on the road yet but they are a very good product. I had a magnaflow y pipe and cat back on the car prior to my swap, so I'll be making my own y pipe and using the magnaflow. But the headers are awesome.

here is a shot to show where they are for clearance

Re: Hawks exhaust

The headers are about as good as they'll ever be. They've been revised several times to clear just about everything. Last issue is the PS collector is a tad low

The Y-pipe and catback from hawks are hit and miss. Some fit perfectly out of the box, some are like this guy's

You can save yourself some money and hassle by having a shop build a custom Y-pipe and attaching it to your favorite catback

Re: Hawks exhaust

Thanks the problem is finding a shop in my area to build it I had whats on it now done at 2 different places and its ok but its still pretty restrictive. There just arn't a lot of choices out here in the sticks lol. My biggest concern is ground clearance.

Re: Hawks exhaust

I used Hawks full system 2 inch primaries, y-pipe and a 3 1/2 inch catback. I had shorties and a custom y and 3 inch cat back before. It picked up almost 40 hp at the wheels. The whole system was easy to install and I had not issues with anything. Def the best product on the market.
