Firebird ls1 swap tach output settings?
Tried searching but havent found a definetive answer as to what the tach value should be set on the pcm to make the original gauge read correctly.I want to have my tuner re calibrate a few things in my tune in a few days.Ive seen in other forums where some people have set the high and low to 7.
Has anyone on here tune their original tach to read properly without using the resistor booster method. This method reads about 600rpm too low. Thanks for any help

Re: Firebird ls1 swap tach output settings?
Incase anyone wants to know.So far my tuner has set my tach output to high and low both at 5.I do have the resistor booster hooked up to the original tach in the cluster and I also have my seperate 5" autometer tach on the side and configured it to 8 cyl mode. Both read within 50 or so rpm off of the ecm reading on hp tuners. So Im happy with that since the cam idling will vary a lil its not a big deal.He said fine tuning can dial it in but its not worth the effort.Hope this helps some of you out in the future atleast as a starting point to have the ecm tuned for proper tach signal on the firebirds with an lsx.
