Power Distribution block with trunk mounted battery
What is everyone doing for a power distribution block when the battery is in the trunk. I have a large hot cable coming in on the passenger side into the engine bay and it goes up to the front battery tray. I want a clean and safe way to distribute that battery voltage.

Re: Power Distribution block with trunk mounted battery
I probably should have put this in the electronics section, sorry.

Stumbled across this in the Delphi catalog just yesterday. I will probably use this when I relocate my battery. A little expensive, but I haven't found a good maxi fuse block yet for cheap. Dig through the catalog, and there are several other options too if you need regular fuses, relays, or a combination of components.
Delphi PN's. Check at Mouser.com
Base 12077534
Fuse block 12092231
Cover 12077538
Latch 15495959 (Need 2)
Secondary Lock 12077532
Terminals 12092445 (10ga.)

Re: Power Distribution block with trunk mounted battery
I don't need a fused one. I just need a way to bring in the big power cable and route it to the starter, alternator and any other "constant on" needs. I will probably use a 6 fuse block and run ignition power to it for any switched needs. I bought one of those from Advance for $10.

Re: Power Distribution block with trunk mounted battery
it's not nhra legal to mount the alternator and starter on the same lug like that. The car won't shut off when you throw the cutoff switch. Alternator needs to run back to the battery side of the switch, electronics and fuse panel to the switched power side.

This car is not going to be at the track much if at all. The battery is in the spare tire well because of space and aesthetics. I do not have a kill switch.

I ran my power cable to the junction block, then a separate 2 guage wire from the junction block to the starter and one wire from the starter to the back of the alternator.
