LT1 Swap - Reading ~15 volts at idle at the battery

I am worried that my alternator is charging too much. I used the post below to decide how to wire up my alternator:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/post...38-post11.html

I have read other threads talking about wiring in a 1 watt 470 ohm resistor to mimic the situation with a 4th gen guage. I am just not sure which way to go. 15 volts is high but not terribly high. The battery is a yellow top optima dry cell mounted in the spare tire well.

Looking for advice.

I have a one red alt wire and 470ohm resistor and mine charges at 13volts stick a volt meter to your battery to make sure. 15 volts sounds a bit much.
