Hawks crossmember arrived today also got the O2 bung I needed from a guy at work. I might add he's got a 93 RX7 original Twin turbo car that he swapped An LS out of a newer GTO in. One of the stickiest cars I have ever rode in. Very talented guy Thanks Craig

Re: 88 Convertible LT1 6-Speed Swap
Hey I'm 16 and I have a 94 z28 camaro with a lt1 350 and a manual transmission and im looking at purchasing a 89 camaro Rs that had a automatic v8 engine I was wondering how hard would it be to put my lt1 engine and tranny into the 89 rs? I was hit by a drunk uninsured driver and I was quoted 5,500 to fix my 94 so I was hoping it would be cheaper to just buy this 89 for 800 and put my engine and tranny in but ie not very car technical I mean I can take of one but engine swaps and everything seem alien to me and I don't have dad or uncle or anyone to help so it will just be and my friend who's dad runs a scrap yard my main questions are: how much do your think it will cost? Is it possible? How hard will it be to cut a hole for the clutch and switch out the automatic shifter with a stick shifter? Will the stick shifter and clutch line up appropriately? And will my seats from the 94 fit in the 89? I will have the 94 to use as a donors car the only thing that got messed up in the wreck was the thing that holds the radiator fluid and antifreeze. And the front passenger side wheel took the full impact so engine tranny etc is still fine. I appreciate any help im sorry if its hard to understand but like I said im 16 I live on my own I work 2 jobs it was my only car and I have to have a working vehicle by the time school starts or I won't have a way there seeing as its 18 miles away
No messing with pedals, making holes in the firewall and I think you can use the stock master cyl.
You'll have to cut the hole for the manual shifter a bit in the tunnel but not much.
Your seats swap straight in to the 3rd gen.
Having your 94 there as a donor is awesome. You can even switch the enitre dash and center console, use the tank that is in it, the rear end etc.
Lots of info here on the site.

Yeah make sure it's a manual trans car that you buy. Hard to say how much $$$$ to do it I'm not there yet. But expect to spend at least couple grand on the swap headers, harness, and other stuff needed aren't cheap. I plan to use the old 305 manifolds to try to save $$$. As you can see I got alot of time into this car so make sure you buy a clean one!

Easiest motor and trans I have ever put in from the top with most of the harness and even the drivers side exhaust manifold bolted up. Thanks Pocket Hoover and Pouty. Looks messy soon to look pretty!!!!!

Made the power steering bracket out of stainless. The Power distribution block, fuse holder mount to it and the grounds connect underneath. Real happy with the progress today got the radiator in and routed alot of stuff. More pics to come. Just need fluids and a tune Before I fire. Anyone suggest someone who could put a tune on this PCM?

First fire and I'm ecstatic!!!!! No leaks haven't driving it yet couple bugs to work out fan never kicked on and not sure if the temp guage is accurate. I just wanted to say thank you to all who contributed in this build who knows I may have used an idea of yours. Clutch is fully disengaged half way down not sure how it's going to feel yet but it was working haha it pays to plug the hydro hose whenever doing a T56 swap. Thanks again guys. The video takes a couple minutes before and is a little dark but there will be better ones to come.

Nice work there. Sounds good also. One question though. Did that lower radiator hose work out? If so did you have to do anything to make it fit the right way? Do you also have a part number or year that i can look up to get one?

Re: 88 Convertible LT1 6-Speed Swap
I know I promised louvers on this hood but have decided to leave this hood as is. Alot of time into this and just kinda came to the realization that opti's don't like water so I will have 2 hoods for it. This one when I feel flashy and just a plain Jane stocker it came with when I wanna go clean. For the one who commented that this hood was junk and to throw it away after I cut it thanks for motivating me to finish it :-) Still working slowly on this but it's gonna get painted hopefully this summer LINKDIRECT

God d $%&.....
I admire your "stick-to-it-ness" in updating the post and working on the project as time permits...
i have literally bought and sold 4 f-bodies and did an lt1 swap in a 92 in that time.... (since 2012) now i drive a supercharged mini..... dont judge. Its 320hp and decked out suspension for all that racing i never do...
