I am into the LT1 swap so I really don't know, just thought it made good sense. someone should chime in soon. this is why we have this forum, there is always some tidbit of information left out of a story - build.

Re: anybody use these?
what motor mount clamshells do you have? did the ls1 have mounts when you got it or you have old sbc mounts you want to reuse?
if the ls1 has mounts on the block already then just buy hawks motor mount plates:
http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/pr...s%2C-Pair.html
if you are using sbc mounts then I believe you need lsx 1 inch setback adapters for everything else to line up.What transmission will you be running?
This is all covered in the sticky above though.

Re: anybody use these?
Keep in mind that the plate-style adapters that utilize the SBC mounts won't allow for using the f-body a/c compressor, so if you're planning on running a/c with f-body accessories, you'll need to use the Hawks/Spohn style mounts.

if ac is not a concern, 1" "setbacks" will work...not sure what these 1 1/4" forward mean...unless the mean the mount is 1 1/4" forward of the ls1 mounts....

Re: anybody use these?
I think the point is it moves the engine forward.
I know there is scant room between the firewall, and the engine on my car. I also had to extend the shifter hole in the trans tunnel back a couple of inches.... as it cut some metal.
That said, I am happy to have the weight less, and back.
Perhaps, the point of these adapters is for other small block cars that may have even LESS room between the firewall and engine.... as in none?
