LS1 swap with Corvette or Firehawk rims

Out of curiousity if anyones experienced any problems with and LS1 engine and having a set of Corvette rims or Firehawk rims on there car. I read that the spacers could/have broken for whatever reason. I'm curious as to why this would happen or if anyone on here had this happen.

Re: LS1 swap with Corvette or Firehawk rims

Are you asking if a LS1 can break the 2" adapters needed for C5 wheels?

The answer is no, even with big power adders

its not the spacers that break, its the studs, id only worry about shearing studs if your running some serious power through the rear end on some of the cheapest spacers you can get (ebay, $30?).

I actually know somebody that had a front wheel fall off on the highway. It does happen.

The funny part of the story is somebody stopped and stole his wheel before he could walk down the road to pick it up!

Re: LS1 swap with Corvette or Firehawk rims

There is a reason that some sanctioned racing bodies do not allow wheel adapters.....Run wheels that bolt up right the first time. Body mods are ok but not doubling the wheel studs & doubling the lug nuts + the extra weight of everything.
