1986 Camaro + 1994 caprice 9c1 swap

I am currently in the project of swapping an lt1 out of a caprice police cruiser and implanting it into my 86 iroc 5 speed (ECM and all) I was just wondering if anyone else completed this swap and if your happy with your results? What's the specs on the car after the install? And will my 5 speed burg Warner be able to cut the steak so to say?

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

There is a sticky in the top section of this forum about LT1 swaps. If you haven't read through it yet, take a look.

The T5 is pretty weak, can be broken with a stock 305. So, increasing the power by 100 horses isn't going in the right direction. You're much better off going with a T56. But, as long as you baby the T5, it will be fine.

I havent gotten a chance to drive mine yet, but I know your going to love it. Your going to have to do a bit of reading if you plan on doing the wiring. But everything else is pretty strait forward. You can pick up a set of aluminum heads for a reasonable price, and that will up your compression a bit.

You can use the T5 but like the mod. said, be careful and baby the heck out of it.

Theres alot of good swap info on this site so start reading my friend.
