wire harness and ECM question
I am swapping in LS1 from a 2000 z28 automatic car into my 1992 z28 auto car. I have the complete donor car. I decided i want to go with a t56 instead of the 4L60E. My question is about the wiring harness and computer from the donor car. Can i use the computer or do i need one from a manual car, also the wiring harness i assume i can modify for the t56. I also read one of POCKET's threads about trying to use a interior harness from a manual 1992 car, i assume for the clutch pedal switches. Does anyone have any suggestions for me ? I have not begun the wiring yet, but i am trying to get my ducks in a row beforehand.
thanks in advance guys !

Re: wire harness and ECM question
It would by far, IMHO to keep your stock dash harness, and update for a stick swap. The two heaviest wires in your neutral safety switch, will need to be extended to the cluth anticipate switch on the it h pedal. , then the blue and green wires from the neutral safety switch can also be extended and can pass through the rubber grommet that your shifter cable went through to the backup switch on the t56. Only downfall, is you have to press the clutch in to be a able to use your hatch release switch.
Your ls1 harness can be changed to use a t56 instead of auto, all you need are the reverse lockout plug, and backup switch plug. VSS plug is same from auto to t56.
I am pretty sure the PCM can be retuned for use on a six speed, but I am not positive. Not very familiar with what programming can be done with pcms in these regards.
