What Racetronix kit with LS1 plastic tank
Just wondering what Racetronix kit people bought when using the plastic tank with their LS1 swaps. Did you get the 99+ kit and this adapter to work with the three pin stock wiring?

How well did it work, enough length for the wires? Did you get the $20 adapter?

Ls1 kit but will need different sending unit to work with stock gauge. Talk to LonnieP here

I didn't need that adaptor. Just got the fuel pump wire kit.

Huh... that's interesting. Never noticed they sold a connector to adapt the harness. That might seem like a cool perk at first but there are a couple good reasons to eliminate the stock fuel pump relay from your car:
1. Terribly poor design and one of the common failure modes is shorting between terminals. Can even cause fires.
2. It's considered bad design practice to let a relay drive a relay.
My plan is to eliminate the stock fuel pump relay on the car and use the LS1 engine controller to operate the Racetronix pump relay. My wiring idea is linked below. Keep in mind this has not been proven with a running car so I am at liberty to change my mind at any time.

Although, I will say it would have been nice to have that harness adapter instead of hunting down all the right parts and tools individually. I spent way more money on the crimp tool! With that adapter all I would have had to do is swap a few pin locations and it would have worked for me.

I plan on using Speedhut gauges so using the purple wire at the rear connector isn't an issue because I could just run a new wire. I plan on using as much as I can from the LS1 car including relays.
With that in mind would the best bet be to run a signal wire from the computer to the tank and use the Racetronix relay back there for the fuel pump and just ground everything to the chassis at the rear?

I used the 99+ since I swapped in the plastic tanks. I didn't get a relay..?
In my instructions I had to depin both purple wires and reconnect them to the new plug. That's all the wiring I remember.

Maybe I misunderstood. I was talking about the hot wire kit. Now I realize you guys are talking about only the fuel pump swap.
If you're going to spend money on the fuel pump then you should get the hot wire kit too. Got to get the voltage and current to the pump if you expect it to perform.

I see. No, I didn't opt for that extra. While I'm sure it's worth it, I didn't see a need for it since I'm upgrading to something bigger down the road anyways. I only ended up getting it since it was a direct replacement for when my stock pump kicked the bucket... Or canister! Lol

I just saw an ad in GM High Tech Performance for a new drop-in dual fuel pump kit. Maybe just go straight for that and not waste your money. Although, it don't think it uses the fuel bucket and frankly the bucket is the best part of the F-body tank design.

I believe it does, but you have to modify it a bit to fit both pumps.
