What would you guys do?

I took my car out to the track yesterday for the 1st time this year. I made a few passes with the best two being 10.58@133mph and 10.60@134. On both passes I could only manage 1.6x 60' times.

I know with this MPH the car "could" run high 9s if I could improve my 60' times. My question is this, would you guys even bother with putting in a transbrake? Or just leave it alone since it’s just a street car that I put together to prove a point to some friends of mine? I really don't want to screw up the street manners with a high stall converter.

Oh BTW my setup is basically a stock LQ4/ TH400 / ZO6 Cam/ Master power T-76/ about 10 pounds of boost.

I drive around on a 3400 stall converter all year long. I have no complaints about "street manners". Of course, that's NA.

How are you building the boost? If turbo, a tranny brake would allow you to spool up the converter. Higher stall would allow the engine to be in the power band at launch. Both should improve 60' time. Neither should affect street manners to a significant degree.

If you aren't racing it regularly, then might as well leave it alone (if you're happy with its street manners, that is).

Hi stall and trans brake are unrelated. Stall is matched more to cam profile vs hp, and trans brake is for dialing launch/spool/etc.

Not sure if you meant this for me but this is the reason I'm on the fence about the TB. I'm just trying to improve my 60' times and not rely on turning up the boost for better ETs.
