I have an 86 Camaro with an LT1 swapped in. When I initially start it up when cold, it will idle around 1500 or more, and it will stay this way the entire time I drive it until it is shut off. After a few minutes I can shut it off and start it up again and it usually idles lower, or sometimes it will still be really high. After a few tries I can restart it and it will idle normally for the whole time I drive it. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on what may be causing this? Wherever it decides to idle when it is started, that is where it will stay until shut off. It doesn't really fluctuate as you drive.
