Lt1 acting weird when it rains?
Every time it rains my lt1 acts like it wont start 80% of the time, I don't drive it every day, maybe once a week tops. The other day it rained here about an inch, i go out to start it and nothing, it just turns over. So i wait a day or two for it to dry up, go back out and it fires right up and runs like nothing happened .
I think moisture is getting into the optijunk somehow. I checked the waterpump and it's not leaking. Again it only pulls this **** when it rains i noticed? I did a Google search for the problem and a couple of hits just like my question, but a bunch of vague ******* responded.

I can't suck through none of the two vented lines to the opti, should i be able to is the question? I thought the vented vacuum lines was supposed to fix this bs. I just dread paying 360$ for something that wants to work when it feels like it.

I bought a cheap one on ebay recently for $80 and it worked fine. Made by the same company that made my OBD2 distributor that I used for 3 years.

Re: Lt1 acting weird when it rains?
Probably the opti. I ran my old one for around 4 years no issues. Solution seemed to be, buy a new AC Delco unit, take it apart and loctite the screws inside then use RTV to seal the case.
It was used on my 383 N/A 3 years then on my turbo setup. Never an issue. Also I have power washed the motor, driven it in the rain etc.

Re: Lt1 acting weird when it rains?
Update: it's been dry for about 3 weeks, no problems i guess i will postpone a new opti until the next thunder storm hits. Will keep a close eye on the radar. Thanks guys for the input.
