HELP!! No Load reading (0% constantly) but engine runs fine...
Hey guys, need a little help here...'87 camaro sport coupe with 4.8l ls and built 4l60e trans. Car has been running great for the past 6 months, then last week it starts burning gas alot more and bogging down when coming to a stop, never stalls but dips about 100-150 rpm below idle. Its running in speed density (no mafs), but didnt start running like this until last week and other than those 2 symptoms, it runs great. Yesterday, i decided to check some PIDS while i was at the shop and noticed that my longterms and shortterms are reading rich, baro is at 100kpa (weather channel stated it was 101kpa),no codes are pending nor set, and my load pid was 0% at idle and revs....never fluctuated at all. New intake manifold gaskets, new pcv valve, new hoses, all done before i put the motor in the car, so i seriously doubt its a vacuum leak. I realize them map sensor does the main portion of calculating engine load, but do u think that may be the issue and the pcm has resorted to a rich fuel table to compensate?

Test the map sensor again. It should not read the ambient pressure. It's job is to read manifold vacuum
If it reads the same as outside, I'd check it hasn't popped out of the manifold port or is defective

yeah i'll definitely do that tomorrow when i put my 4th gen rear axle in. i just ordered a new map sensor and maf sensor so we will see the differences in how it runs. i thought it was odd that it read that way, but do u think its also causing my load value to read 0%?

I don't know much about the load value beyond it help determine downshift points with automatics
