88 firebird 95 LT1 swap electric speedo & 700r4 lock up wiring??
Finishing wiring for a 95' LT1 swap into an 88 firebird and I'm having a little trouble figuring out how to correctly wire the LT1 PCM speedo signal to the 88 firebirds stock electric speedo, and how to wire in the lock up for the 700r4 converter which I would also like to be controlled by the LT1 PCM..if anybody has a link or can explain to me how to do this I'd really appreciate it,TIA

'95 was the first year of the Pulse Width Modulated lockup, rather than lockup being either on or off.
As such, it may prove easier to go with the tune for a T56, then put lockup on a vacuum switch, and rig up a switch so the driver can disable that whenever not cruising the highway in OD at a steady speed. And wire in the brake switch to auto-unlock it if you have to brakes.
Some OE apps were also on a temp switch so it wouldn't lock until the engine got up to temp. From experience I feel that this isn't necessary for aggressive gearing with a modest camshaft.
Or use a '93 Z28 tune. Those were supposed to be 4L60s (700R-4s) rather than 4L60Es as in '94.
Either way, you still need a VSS signal.
L98 TB should bolt up and have provision for the TV cable.

Use a 40 tooth reluctor from a later 4L60E (still fits the 700R4 shaft) and matching VSS to satisfy the VSS requirement. An alternative would be a dakota digital converter box at 2-3x the cost
You'll need an external lock-up circuit for the 700R4, LT1 OBDI LT1 OBDII, LSx PCMs cannot control this function directly. Bowtie overdrives sells a kit, but its a simple relay circuit, easy to build yourself
Im pretty sure they sell a TV cable adapter bracket too. Use the 93 LT1 TV cable
FWIW, 93's used a completely different ECM than the 94-95's and 96-97s. You simply cannot load a 93 tune into a 94-97 PCM

Thanks guys,Yeah i know about the reluctor and vss,im just finding mixed results on how/where to wire in the 3rd gen speedo after installing the Newer reluctor and vss..the 3rd gen bulkhead connector has a purple wire and a yellow wire going to the 3rd vss connector, then i have a purple and a yellow wire coming from the a31 & a32 pins of red LT1 PCM connector to the lt1 vss connector and a grn/wht (vss output) wire coming from b8 of black PCM connector that goes to the speedo I assume??..how would I go about wiring this up?which wires go where?

The old VSS wires are not used. New VSS to the PCM, then PCM to c207 k, bypass buffer box and it's done
