just talked to a guy about a 1993 CORVETTE LT1 Engine with ECM and Harness and asked him would it fit in a 1982 z28 and he said no i would like to know is this true.

 

A sbc is a sbc, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't fit.

 

Depends upon your definition of "fit".

Will it bolt in place and the electricals plug in as-is? No.

Can it be made to bolt in, and necessary wiring done to make it run? Yes.

Think about it - Why would a Corvette guy necessarily know if his engine could be swapped into an '82 Z28?

I've been told the 93 LT1 is kind of a morphodite. It wasn't a completely-baked configuration, and GM made several updates for the 94-onward years. I'd tend to avoid one unless the price was really good and the engine was in extremely good shape. Even then....

 

I have a 93 f-body LT1 in my car. The main difference between it and the later years is that the fuel injections are batch fire, instead of sequential, its speed density (no mass airflow sensor), and the ecm still uses an EEPROM. Its not a deal breaker IMO, but something to be aware of.
