Adding A/C to my 87 Camaro LS1/T56

So I decided to add A/C back to my car over the winter among other things.
Basically I'm looking for the best way to go about it with my current setup.

I have a 4th gen Camaro dash swap and currently NO hvac system in the car. Need some input on wiring as all the A/C wires are de-pinned from the pcm so I will be basically starting from scratch.

My questions:
What tubular K-member will work with the LS1 A/C compressor?
Should I find a 4th gen hvac unit or use a 3rd gen?
How do I go about wiring it?
What parts am I going to need? (I have a list already...compressor, condenser...the big stuff)

What I want in the final outcome.
All vents to work.
Cold A/C
If possible, full use of the 4th gen controls.

Open to any suggestions.
Thanks.

BMR K member, for one, for sure….
Ghettocruiser swapped in a 4th Gen HVAC unit, in one of his builds…"Here we go again.."
I recall someone else doing it too. Had to cut a lot of dash away.
My approach is to use 3rd Gen HVAC unit and controls (I have 3rd Gen dash), 3rd Gen Drier, 4th Gen Compressor, modern Condenser.
Still theory. Have parts, slow getting all done…tabbing lines, and hard tube with hi pressure switch holding things up. In New England you need A/C for Summer distance, but fine without, otherwise.

The wiring is pretty basic, there's a big thread about it with diagrams

I did exactly what ghettocruiser did.

But Headers are affecting my temp due to the heater box being so close to the headers.

In the early 90s, headers fried my HVAC box- BIG hole in it.
In 94, I covered the new one with several layers of Heat Shield cloth. Haven't had a problem since….. that's on several SBCs with SLP headers, and now an LS1 with 2002 factory Camaro manifolds.
