LT1 SD VS MAF

Any issues with the 93 SD LT1 vs the MAF LT1's when it comes to upgrades and tuning? Talking F body swaps only

Re: LT1 SD VS MAF

93s use chips similar to 3rd gen's. 94-97 are flashed on the go. Tuning for the OBDI 94-95 PCMs is easier and cheaper than the OBDII systems, but both are capable

Re: LT1 SD VS MAF

The con is that on a 93, bolt-ons require a tune to compensate, whereas the 94 up will compensate better by measuring the change in air flow.

In a nutshell, the 94up is more forgiving, but if you are a good tuner, either will work very similarly.

Keep in mind the 93 was not true sequential, but a batch fire injection system that fires 1 engine bank at a time. The newer has a slight emissions & drivability advantage.
