LT1 Harness Questions
I have some questions that I kind of need some clarification on I hope you guys can help me with. Thanks!
1) figured out...
2)Can I common all the Ignition positive off of the large pink lead coming from the C100?
3)Dose anyone have or know where I can find pinouts for the '96 OBD2 Diag Port? I'm having troubles figuring out a couple of leads. ** Found**
4)VSS leads, do I get them from the sensor itself or after the buffer box?
**Found**
5)Which connector feeds the tach signal to the dash? the c100 or c207?
6)lol I have no clue with this wire goes.... it comes from the starter, I want to say the alternator, but that seems wrong to me.
on a side note, I do plan on keeping my starter interlock via VATS.

2) Yes, but I dont recommend it. C100 F4 12ga pnk is unfused directly from the IGN switch. Id recommend finding the individual fuse points on the C100/C207
5) C100 D6 wht
6) HVAC blower motor 12v

6) HVAC blower motor 12v

Re: LT1 Harness Questions
thanks! I thought so, I just wasn't 100% sure
that's kind of odd, i'll have to see what I disconnected there accidentally I guess. I had thought I left all my blower motor HVAC stuff alone...

Re: LT1 Harness Questions
Coil
The HVAC harness is independent of the engine harness. For 82-89 cars the inline connector is split into two. The part in your hand is 12v constant, it also fed the hood light. There is another half with a 12ga black wire grounding the blower motor and 1-2 wires for AC request (LT BLU always present) and AC fan switch (DK GRN/WHT sometimes present, not needed either way). For 90-92 cars the 12v wire joins the other connector

Re: LT1 Harness Questions
awesome thanks Pocket! I'll have to sort out the HVAC stuff when I get home from work at the end of the month and can actually look at it...
as for the coil lead (c100 F4), I know my LT1 coil ign. pos. is a 10amp fused lead, so this would be pretty well overkill I'm thinking... What do you recommend using the F4 lead for? Am I good to build my PCM fuse/relay block with this?
I'm re-reading a few of your threads as I go here...

Re: LT1 Harness Questions
I dont use it for conversion harnesses. If your 87 had a TPI originally like pictured, then you dont need a fuseblock either. There are ample fuse points on the car already, just add relays as needed

Re: LT1 Harness Questions
Right on thats good to know, i was planning on using as much of the stock tpi fuse leads as possible. I may get rid of yhat c100 lead now.
My car is an 89 GTA, what fuse leads would you recommend i use for my lt1 harness? I have my injector leads seperated to run to the fuse block, but thats all i have sorted right now.
Only other thing im wondering is the specifics behind the 89 c207. I noticed on the diagram there are some leads that are labeled as multiple items. Are those the positive 12v ignition and 12v battery leads i can cuse for my harness.
Sorry if it seems like im asking a lot... this is my first fuel injection swap, and i just want to be 100% on this. Thanks again pocket!

Re: LT1 Harness Questions
was the car originally the 87 Iroc w/ 305 TPI w T5? There are few nuances that might cause you some issues as it did with me-
my fuel pump came from the C207 D mine was brown, ECM fuse ran through F (pnk/blk), all of my ALDL ran through this as well
The biggest difference is your C221 connector, it should be hanging right by the C207, Inj 1 and Inj 2 fuses ran through that, along with Fans fuse, and the back-up lights.
It took me a long time to find those differences and it was basically following the chiltons manual wiring diagrams and ohming it all out.
I ended up moving some wires around on my C207 to make room for all 5 wires from my C221 to move the C207. Feel free to ask me anything you want to know and I can try to help you out as well.

Re: LT1 Harness Questions
Okie dokie, Pocket has lots of great information, and he know pretty much every nuance in these cars, but before you pull your hair out, like i did, hit the chiltons manual if things are exactly where he said they should be.
And just take you time identifying everything before you start cutting and splicing, it will make the job even easier going forward.
Good Luck!
