3 wire Temp sensor? & other

My 2 wire temp has yellow & tan, the 3 wire plug is bl/ppl/blk.Question is, where do the yll/tan wires go to on the 3 wire plug?

Also, does the alt (brown) wire from my c100 go on the back of the LS alt.Im guessing this (brn wire) is for the gauge.Originally went to the 2 wire alt plug.

Lastly, I don't have anything on the harness to hook up the NSS (org/blk wire) & the TCC (ppl wire).Where else can they go?

This is on a e-rod harness? Ive been doing searches to no avail.Any/all help appreciated.

A = black............coolant temp input to ecm, low reference
b = yellow...........coolant temp input to ecm, sensor signal
c = green............coolant temp input for cluster mounted temp gauge

I don't know if this will help you any because I am not sure of the tan wire, not saying it isn't right or anything. I just don't remember it, but this is what I used to wire up the 3 wire cts. The pins a,b, and c are going to be the same regardless of wire color. Hope it helps.

Thanks, that's what I need.My plug is numbered 1 (tan) & 2 (yllw), but that diagram should steer me in the right direction.

Re: 3 wire Temp sensor? & other

I just installed a new temperature control sensor in my 96 firebird v6. The color coding didn't exactly match. The new red matched up to black (B), the new black matched up to yellow (A) and the new white matched up to green (C). which concurs with the diagram given above.

Re: 3 wire Temp sensor? & other

Do NOT ever assume that Wiring colors are the same between two different Cars (especially if they do not even share the same Engine/ EFI System).

That is a really good way to **** things up.
