i have a 1991 z28 305 tpi 5 speed manual. when i got it i didnt think the body was all too bad but 6 months later i have found that the frame is even shot. so. id like to swap my motor/trans into another camaro roller. what years are compatible with my set up? things to consider with electronics? thanks in advance

 

First, think this is the wrong subthread as this is for LSX/LTX swaps.

What do you mean the frame is shot? Is it overly rusted? Bent?

90-92 with ease. Any other years with modification and due diligence. I'm thinking you'd have to swap everything (EVERYTHING) to make it work.

 

The right rear floor section where the trailing arm bolts up has seperated , allowing the axle to move forwards n backwards. The car has been removed from road duty for everyones sake.

 

The mechanicals fit just about everything 82-92

Electronics are a direct fit for 90-92
88-89 are similar, 85-87 EFI cars still in the running
82-85 cars and 86-87 carb cars are problematic for adapting EFI

 

anything i can do for the frame? patch? replace maybe?
