You have a 2000 z28 6-speed in your driveway... What do you cannibalize from it?

Point of this post...

I have an 1985 z28, light gray cloth interior, in pretty decent shap but foam in seats is "hard" and carpet has seen better days. (Mechanical fuel pump, and fans)

Figure this might be a good post for people in similar situation, or at a jukyard shopping.

I also have a 2000 z28, t56 with a "fair" black leather interior. (totaled, but "shady" driveable)

Still have a little bit of clean up, and some grinding/sanding before I paint the engine bay on the 85 z28, but the engine/trans is out.
-UMI "road race" k-member and motor mount brackets.
-(DOES NOT SUPPORT STOCk LOCATION LS1 AC)
-I can buy a accesory kit mod and use a LS1, or 3rd gen style compressor. haven decided, yet maybe later

WHAT WOULD YOU TAKE FROM THE 2000 LS1/T56 CAR?!?!?!?!?!?

My plans...
-engine/accessories
-tranny
-pedals/hydraulics
-rad/lines
-pcm/engine harness(how far do I go with this? VATS? any and everything attached to the PCM?
-maybe some underhood fuseboxes to ripoff to for fuel pump/fan relays.
-driveshaft/torque arm/rear end
-front and rear brakes(though I may ditch the lines as I will unlikely be able to manage a 4th gen ABS system.)
-all e-brake parts
-Fuel tank/pump/straps, maybe lines... will they work.

Interior I plan to kind of convert to black, I want to keep third gen style dash and doors.
-seats
-maybe carpet
-T-top holders (would they work? I'll look into it)
-Does the 4th gen t-top headliner, sail panel/hatch plastic from 4th gen work?

My goal is to gut the car then send it to th4 junkyard but don't want to loose anything.

Might as well grab the brake booster. And front seat belts.

You won't be able to use it, but the LS1 steering rack is a great upgrade for V6/LT1 cars. Also required for LS swaps in 4thgens.

Yep.. but unfortunately I believe it's one of the few trashed components on my ls1 car.

The 4thgen headliner, sail panels etc dont fit the shape/contours of a 3rdgen,not without some good modifying and maybe plastic welding or fibre glassing some sections..not worth the hassle.Take the panels out and just dye them black and put in the seats/belts.The dash will fit in and have panel gaps if your willing to live with them. You could do the abs system and rework lines but the front and rear ls1 brake upgrade alone will be plenty stopping power with good pad/rotor.

I definitely plan to do the brakes... my question is has any one heard of someone doing abs as well... I wouldnt mind doing it of it seems feasible, but might be a bit of a pain. Especially front speed sensors. I plan on keeping 3rd gen dash and aftermarket gauges.

Someone brought up that topic about abs not long ago but its one of those projects where someone starts doing a build..never posts the end results and the topic dies.If your up for some challenge I dont see why it cant be done considering you have a donor car with all the parts.Feasible to do..ill let you tell us how it goes lol.
