LTX and LSXPutting LT1s, LS1s, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who are doing and have done the swaps so they can discuss all of their technical aspects including repairs, swap info, and performance upgrades.
I have searched absolutely everywhere and could not find any information about hedman husler 45750 headers. summit has them for 550$ and thats a steal for 1 7/8' primaries with 3" collectors. I could only find the thread about these headers where a guy accidently bought gen 1 ls swap headers and returned them. I searched jegs, summit, and hedmans website and they all refer to these as 82-92 f body ls swap headers. I took the leap and bought them. Should arive in a few days. Let me know if any of you have experience with these.
Well they finally arrived today. The welds look pretty good but
some slight Flex to it but I have a feeling that's going to come in handy during install. They look awesome I'm really worried about if they're going to fit or not. Using Factory motor mounts is definitely not an option
No room for oil filter to be removed or installed. Oil filter relocation may be in order.
I could hammer it some and cut off this metal flap but i think it holds the primary to the collector. Also not the drain plug 1" away from the header. Once removed oil will cover the header in oil. I may have to plug and weld in a new plug location.
That's pretty sketchy in my opinion... how do you design something and not take into account the oil filter and plug? I could understand something that isn't done or taken off that frequently, but those?
