I'm in the process of building the engine out of my T/A that I spun a few rod bearings. Fun fun, but I'm just wanting to share my experience as I build it. Doing a proper engine blueprint.

I've been working on it for about a year. Just buying the parts as I can afford. A picture of the rod bearing cap. You can tell that it got some heat into it. Here's a video of my buddy and I removing the engine from my car.

Took my injectors into the shop to see how they did after almost 170000 miles and they did pretty good.

Heads were upgraded with lunati double spring good to 650 lift. Rockers were upgraded with roller bearings. With stock sized ferrea valves.

I was originally planning on using stock rods, but both sets I had were junk. As you can see in he pic below. So I decided to go with a set of eagle forged h-beam rods.

Just slowly coming along. Decided to crack test the crack this morning just to be on the safe side. Zero cracks turned up and it looked good.

Went into the shop to port and shim my oil pump. Amazing what a few minutes of work can do for the entrance and exit of it.

Started weighing the rotating assembly. Forgot to take pictures while I was
and hope to have the cam ordered Monday. Also measured the cylinder bores. Only a few other things to order!
Weighed rods and cylinder bore sizes.

Measured the bearing end on my rod set. All were within a tenth. Did the wrist pin bores and there was only 2-3 tenths of clearance. So I'm going to hone them out to 9 tenths to get the right oil clearance. Here's while I was measuring the bearing bores.

Started checking oil clearances for the rods, and they were a little larger than I was wanting. I could have ordered a few 1 under bearings to close the clearance up. But in the end I decided to order a new crank. Had to get a new reluctor wheel as the new one is a 58 tooth. For a few extra bucks and I get a little bit more piece of mind. The mains were going to be the same as well.

Got one cylinder bank most of the way done today! Had to hone 6 thousandths. Have to do a final pass to knock down the peaks from the initial pass. Got the deck height measured too. Was with in half a thousands.

Final hone is done!! All the cylinders are within two tenths and cylinder tapper as well. Got to give a big shout out to my buddy Jonathan for doing the work. I just helped where I could during. Spent about two hours cleaning once he was done.

*****! I was hoping to get away with not having to line hone the block, but I'm not so fortunate. Went through measuring the main bore housings and they were a little big. Changed the bolts since I was using the factory type TTA bolts thinking maybe they had streached. The measurements stayed the same.
