LTX and LSXPutting LT1s, LS1s, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who are doing and have done the swaps so they can discuss all of their technical aspects including repairs, swap info, and performance upgrades.
On my quest to try and maintain a somewhat factory appearance I purchased a later style GM radio with AUX on here a few years ago. Unfortunately the display is not working. not sure why but the audio sounds great! A friend of mine helped tuck everything away so most of it cant be seen once the rest of the interior is together. If anyone knows of another radio style that looks "correct" or 80s-ish please let me know. Im looking at all options.

Finally swapped on my PA Racing strut mounts for the Spohn ones that were in its place. Found out the metal bushing on the mount was too tall and I had to machine it down to get the nut to thread on to a point I felt comfortable. While I was in there I swapped over the correct spindles that I had modified by BBU.
Spent some more time at EFX chasing a few engine gremlins but she made it onto the rollers! While she did make 382whp I overall am not totally pleased. The engine falls on it face early and then wakes up. According to the shop the engine is fighting the stall. A bit upsetting when the cam was the last piece chosen based on the components I already had. My current choices are to change the cam, new stall, or convert to stick and not worry about it. For now I will push forward and continue finishing up the interior.
How have I not seen this thread yet, your car looks amazing. I'm not usually a fan of the early T/A's but with yours hits me in all the right ways. I didn't see an answer before so sorry if I'm asking the same question again but where is that spoiler from??

Its made by Wings West. On their site its listed under camaro spoilers.
3 years these have been sitting idle and I'm happy to finally install them. The color match is almost on the money. I plan to tint the windows in the future to prevent the sun from destroying these.
Got the car cleaned up and and continued pushing forward with the interior. The ABS headliner was way off and took a lot of trial and error to get to a point where i could consider it acceptable. The push nuts were unable to hold the dome light in place with the pressure of the headliner. I ended up replacing the studs with screws to resolve this.
Finally the front seats are in. Big moment for me and the beginning of my paranoia. But im happy the interior is all together. Yesterday I put some miles on the car and drove out to long island for a monthly meetup with some other thirdgens. The car handled the beating very well. May have left a few sparks here and there but I cant control the horrible roads. Glad the car is complete. On to the next one!
The victory was short lived. Today at 1500 miles on the brand new built trans it blew. 6 Neutrals for me. Its ok though. Spare trans is ready to go. Hopefully up and running by end of the week.
The man pedal is in! Currently undecided as I have both a spec stage 3 clutch and a monster stage 2 clutch. Ive heard that both can be on/off when used with a tick master. Hopefully the install goes smoothly.
Jon, my vote out of those choices would be the Monster Stage/Level 2. I have a Monster L/3 and it's too much, I'd love to change it for a 2. It's in or out, you don't slip it without noise. Great track clutch, but for a driver it's a bit much.
You are a busy man! Just saw your IG post from the ship!
I can't speak to the Monster, but I had a Spec 3, it was fairly on/off, with a little chatter when you tried to slip it. That being said, I did DD it most of the spring/summer/fall for several years.
The drivetrain is all buttoned up and I must say it feels amazing. The pedal feels just like stock and the car drives wonderfully. I owe a big thanks to TGO member Eric-86sc for having this 82-84 manual shift plate on hand to hold me over till hawks releases the new ones this summer. Thanks so much. I noticed my power steering pump has been screaming and Ive already replaced it once in the last 1500 miles. I added 4 shims to reduce the pressure. According to the instructions it should reduce from 1300- 850 PSI. If anyone is familiar with this kit and performance afterward I would appreciate your input. The hawks T56 crossmember is slightly different than the 60e one so I will be going to mufflex in the morning for adjustments with my y pipe. The drive down to the shop was excellent and it feels great cruising. The car will be going back on the dyno after my clutch break in. I put about 300 miles on it this weekend so hopefully by wed it should be ready. Now that I'm finished messing with the car swapping parts the last bits of the interior can go back together.
Shimming the valve inside the power steering Need to get the exhaust adjusted Tuning adjustments for the t56
Right on man. Glad the level 2 is working out! Looks like you've got the MGW shifter from the previous pics. That stick seems super short. I'm 6'2-6'3 depending on the convenience store, and prefer a longer stick for a more positive shift feel...but honestly have no experience with the MGW to compare. How's the 2-3 shift under power?
As Long as the weather is good the miles will go up! 2-3 shift feels great. The car really pulls hard in the upper RPMs. I need to get some nice tires and it will be very interesting to see how the car responds. My power steering is still whining. I do not understand why. My steering box is new too. Should I increase the pulley size?
Mine wines like crazy once up to temp, and i have the montana pulley on it as well. I have not hooked up my ps cooler yet, so i dont know if that will solve it or not. Do you have a cooler on yours? I had this same pump on my other car with the cooler hooked up and it didnt whine. It may not do a thing once hooked up, just a thought.
Slight pause for I was away for work for a while. Came home to re awake the beast and wasted no time to get it properly dialed in. Unfortunately the car only made 5 more hp. It seems the motor is now choking in the upper Rpms. It was suggested to switch to a FAST90 so I will look into it. Other than that the car is a blast and all of the gauges have been properly calibrated.
Should of went with my gut feeling from the beginning. Took my car to get aligned again to a friend and dialed it in even more. We really had to mess with the camber as the car had a visible stance of a riced out honda. Thankfully we prevented too much uneven wear. Shes nice and straight for real now.
Had a small scare. Went to visit a friend getting their swapped 85 T/A tuned at the shop and let them take my car for a spin. They did romp on it and when they tried to stop the pedal went to the floor. Not sure why as the fluid level is where it should be. The car drove home and stopped no issue the whole way home. I have ordered a 98-02 master cylinder to swap in.
same friend was driving the car when the 4l60e blew...hmmmmm
Just curious, new master has not arrived yet. I have realized my car is missing this item pictured below? Is this a check valve? filter? I will be sure to install one when i start my maintenance.
Gotta love it. I was enjoying some good weather driving down a backroad and suddenly had a horrible vibration in the car. I was able to tow the car home and inspect it on the lift. The person who assembled this is currently out of business thankfully . All the bolts were backed out and loose. Pulled the rear today and dropped it off to a new place to be rebuilt. while they are in there, thinking about going from 3.55 to 3.73 or 4.10?
