Dakota digital dash
Will Dakota Digital VHX dash for 82-92 http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=962/category_id=422/mode=prod/prd962.htm work with an LS3/4L65E erod swap with this Dakota Digital OBD-II/CAN interface http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=752/category_id=646/mode=prod/prd752.htm to help keep my dash the same. Just want to pass anything CA smog ref checks for.

You can just call and ask them. In my limited dealings with them they’ve always provided good customer support.

Re: Dakota digital dash
I have those two units from Dakota Digital. I'm just finishing up my LS1/T56 swap (click the link in my signature).
I had a high idle that set two codes, a P0507 for High Idle, and a P0650 Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Control Circuit. I changed the idle air control valve and the idle is fine now. I cleared the codes, but haven't run the car long enough to see if anything comes back. I don't have the CEL light wired directly from the PCM to the cluster control box as the factory LS1 does. Instead, I have it come from the OBDII port -> Interface -> cluster. This may be why the PCM didn't think the CEL was functioning properly since it wasn't 'sensing' the bulb. I plan on wiring up an LED near the PCM that is wired directly to the PCM just in case.
Can't really help you on anything else as far as smog or the auto trans.

Re: Dakota digital dash
The DD dash has provisions for an LED IN the cluster, you just need to wire it up, just like the high beam, turn signals etc, so you should need to just wire from the ECM to the DD box

Re: Dakota digital dash
It was more just for the OP, that when he does the wiring to go ahead and run the CEL wire from the PCM to the control box even if he is using the DD OBDII interface.

Re: Dakota digital dash
Erod doesnt require any specific gauge/s to pass the ref inspection.Any gauge option will do, your choice. All the instruction say is stock gauges will not work.
