LS1 swap Air conditioning oil and recharge capacity
I bought all new AC parts, new lines (I had new old stock hard lines I bought years ago and the hawks conversion lines), new condenser (89 style), new evaporator (89 style), new compressor (2000 style), dryer, expansion valve... literally every part is new.
The compressor says its dry with no oil, I can't seem to find a source I trust that tells me the right amount of PAG and which viscosity.
I see this for firebirds on some random sight I found on google but would like to confirm it (I know I need to use gauges to get the refrigerant spot on mainly concerned on the oil):
Year 1998-2001
Model All Engines
Refrigerant Type R134a
Refrigerant Ounces 32.00
Oil Type PAG 150
Oil Ounces 9.00
Any reason to be concern about the slightly different volume of the system with the mixing of third and fourth gen parts?
Also probably a newbe question but where is the best place to pour the oil into the system as I put it together?

Re: LS1 swap Air conditioning oil and recharge capacity
found an article on ls1tech that says the following for a 98, the oil agrees refrigerant doesn't... I'll buy 4 12 ounce cans of 134 so I have plenty on hand.
R134a Refrigerant: 24oz / 1.5lb
PAG 150 Oil: 9oz
R134a Refrigerant: 24oz / 1.5lb
PAG 150 Oil: 9oz

I used a little over 2 cans of refrigerant.
Also be careful about the oil. The compressors originally came with 150 weight oil, but re-manufactured and aftermarket ones recommend 46.

Just saw there was a QR code on "instructions" it which takes me here.

24.00Oz of R-134a;
9.00Oz of PAG-150
It also says 1/2 the oil into the compressor (suction side) rotate as needed to pull it in, then place the compressor pulley down for 1-3 min to lubricate the seal, and to place the other 1/2 of the oil in the accumulator or low side of the system.
So at least for this fourseason one it seems to still recommend 150.
