T56 whining/noise..diagnosis help needed
thinking it may be the throw out bearing being that it is an eBay unit and it goes away when the clutch is depressed but figured id get more input on it before i pull the trans..
current setup:
LS1/T56
Tick master cylinder
eBay clutch kit (i know, sorry)
Hawks Sinister shifter (dont know if that matters but yeah)

I couldn't really hear those that well (I'm on my phone), but generally, if it goes away when you press the clutch, it's the throwout bearing.
only way to tell for sure is to pull the transmission.

While there's a good chance it's a TO bearing, most of the ones I've heard have been a rattle. Out of curiosity, how much/what type of fluid did you put in? First time I filled mine, I did 4qt (think) through the shifter hole. Second time, I filled it from the 'fill plug' on the side of the trans until it was full (overflowing back out of the fill hole). I know it was noticeably more than the original fill and that everything seemed happier, quieter and seemed to run cooler.
