LTX and LSXPutting LT1s, LS1s, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who are doing and have done the swaps so they can discuss all of their technical aspects including repairs, swap info, and performance upgrades.
I wanted to create a new thread for my LSA blower conversion on the LS3. I’ll catch this one up but essentially I put each system in as a “standalone” and kept the car on the road:
1) Front accessories phase 1: Dirty Dingo CTSv to fbody brackets. 8 rib pulleys on the ZL1 balancer spacing. Pinned the crank, flipped the throttle body and back driving!
2)Heat Exchanger blower cooling System phase 2: installed PLM heat exchanger, Canton reservoir, pump and wiring. Looped hose where the blower will be and it’s all self contained for now. Once the blower goes on next week, I’ll cut the hose and clamp to blowe. Still driving the car lol 😂
3) Fuel system/flex fuel phase 3: working in that now. Removing existing fuel system for E85 capable PTFE hose, pump, new FIC injectors, Deatchsworks filter, boost reference regulator. I also have 4th gen tank and the new pump requires modified bucket so I bought a Hydromat by Holley to prevent fuel starvation.
4) Blower install in a day, some street tuning then to the dyno hopeful by end of February.

I started with a Dirty Dingo CTSV conversion for fbody spacing. It essentially moves everything out to align to the 8 rib outer ZL1 balancer. It comes with 8 rib pulleys also. I had them powder coated gloss black. I also had to flip the dbw throttle body to clear the bracket. This should go back once the Blower is on.
Mounted the PLM HEat Exchanger by modifying the hood latch bracket. Welded two rods going from bottom of latch bracket to the front support.
I also used 4th gen battery tray, by cutting off the reservoir part and mounting that on top the relay center and secured with a threaded rod where stock battery hold down bolt was.
my radiator overflow reservoir is recessed through the battery tray. Trying to pack a lot in here LOL!!
Then mounted the Canton reservoir and all the hoses. The hose is looped for now where the blower will go. It’s all self contained and running with the LS3 lol. Once the blower is on, I’ll just cut the hose and bleed the system again.
Working in the fuel system this weekend! Changing it all out to support flex fuel E85.
