Can I swap my old 2.8 MULTIPORT F1 Engine for an LS1 but keep my stock transmission?

I’ve been wanting to swap my old V6 2.8 Multi-Port F1 motor for an LS1 but I don’t know what transmission to get so I was wondering if I can keep my stock 5 speed manual transmission and run a LS1 engine at the same time?

You technically could with some work, but it would be like having a child spot Arnold at the gym. It will not survive an LS1.

Sure. The Transmission Police aren't going to come and confiscate it after you replace it with one that will work with a V8. Reserve some shelf space for it somewhere.

Time to take a step back and start reading before you plan anything or buy anything. Reading is free and will get you farther in your swap without spending a dollar.
