LTX and LSXPutting LT1s, LS1s, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who are doing and have done the swaps so they can discuss all of their technical aspects including repairs, swap info, and performance upgrades.
New Wiring Jumper Harnesses and Wiring Adapter Harnesses for LSx Swap Alternators and LSx Swap Air-Conditioning Compressors are now available.
Most LSx Swap Wiring Harnesses do NOT include the required Resistor for the Alternator Exciter Circuit.
A simple solution is to use a Jumper Harness that includes the required Resistor.
See Images below.
The 2 Images below shows a Sealed Delphi Jumper Harness with the required Resistor...
And it fits ACDelco Models AD230 and AD244 with LSx Wiring:
Also available is the addition of a Third Connector wired in for a SERVICEABLE Resistor (instead of an Inline Resistor)...
Using an ATM sized Blade Resistor in a Sealed Delphi Connector (easily replaced if the Resistor is ever damaged):
For anyone that is using an older GM/ ACDelco Model Alternator (10DN, 10SI, 12SI, CS130, CS130D, CS144, Etc)...
Or are using a Wiring Harness that is NOT LSx based (TPI Engine, Vortec Engine, Carbureted Engine, Etc)...
Adapter Harnesses are also available.
The Image below shows the Delphi Connectors that can be made into Adapter Harnesses (with or without the Resistor):
Motorsports Grade Jumper Harnesses are also available:
Most LSx Swap Wiring Harnesses do NOT include the required Diode for the Air-Conditioning Compressor Clutch Circuit.
A simple solution is to use a Jumper Harness that includes the required Diode.
See Images below.
