got a 4L85E with supermatic controller. from chevrolet performance. but got issue with wire to sport button. can anyone tell me what color wire goes to switch? so I can feed new wire from multiplug rather than stripping down wiring to find join and A/B label (all neatly tucked away) thanks
On my e-rod/supermatic/manual its a blue wire on the trans harness, 4 wire square connector. That you simply ground and it puts the tranny in B mode. The TCC lock is on there too, OD cancel and a DYNO mode (which i never tried out). I used a micro switch disguised as a torx screw on the dash to ground the wire.

This is what Tranzman responded with:
I think the key/answer to your question is on the C/D... I studied the diagrams for a while and do not see anything that would trigger a sport mode. In the trucks with tow/haul it is a momentary on switch that actually grounds a specific pin on the PCM. I saw no such pin on the wiring diagram. In the instruction sheet for the wiring on pg. 3 item 3 it states: "You are ready to cruise – Most applications will be able to use the preprogrammed calibrations
without any modifications. Your Transmission Control Unit comes preprogrammed with a "Street"
calibration and a "Performance" calibration. The "Performance" calibration must be accessed using
the A/B selector switch (B calibration) by grounding the A/B selector wire. Removing the ground
from this wire switches the controller back to the "Street" calibration." So it sounds as if you need to find the A/B selector switch. It also states the the enclosed C/D has more information on page 2 "The Transmission Control Harness provides for optional connections for RPM, speedometer and oil pressure electronic gauge
connections. They are not required to be used for transmission operation. The Transmission Control harness also has provisions
for (see the enclosed CD for more details on how to wire-up these features):
• Brake light switch activated Torque Converter unlock
• Overdrive cancellation
• A/B calibration switch – allows a second calibration to be activated
• Dyno mode – allows transmission to be "locked" in gear for chassis dyno testing"

Is that 4L85E an upgrade to the 4L80E?
It's the same difference as the 4L65e-70e. Handles a bit more torque

thanks, did find it
4L85E was supplied with LS3 495bhp crate engine from Chevrolet performance, rebuilt upgraded and pre tuned

The A/B calibration switch on the transmission from Chevrolet performance comes pre programmed with street and performance tunes so that is what I wanted to rewire. could not find the CD
all sorted now thanks
The CD came with my e-rod kit. It has the software that lets you access the TCU to change line pressure, shift points, TCC lock up points and other parameters i cant remember right now. For both A and B modes. If you change final drive ratio or tire size you can enter that into the software. So the VSS ( and too tranny i guess) work properly.
thanks, did find it

Damn, they're up to 85e now! I wish id gotten the 70e (at the time, 2015). It was only 1k ($3k vs 2k) more than the 65e. Those were the prices for brand new too from GM.

that was about 7 years ago I got mine, prices have nearly doubled since then. cheaper to buy a 5th gen Camaro and strip for parts than buy a crate LS3 and transmission etc. now
