really simple question about thirdgen LS fitment.

Hi

89 Camaro rs current L03 5.0 tbi

I have searched and read likely more than I probably should have about my impending LS swap. I have one question I can't seem to find the answer to.

If I intend to run AC compressor in the factory thirdgen location (in my case top passenger side) and alternator and power steering in their also factory locations (alternator top driver side and PS directly below it).

Do I NEED to worry about K Member? Am I correct that I will not need to either notch, or have a tubular K Member? Just need the correct motor mount adapters?

I understand the other non AC reasons why you may want to do it, like clearance etc. but is it REQUIRED? It does not seem so.

Thanks for this likely stupid question but I don't see it spelled out anywhere this blankly.

That is correct, the K-member will not need to be notched if AC compressor is up high.

Camaro spacing with ict billet R4 compressor mount for pass side. And then the ICT billet alternator/ PS mount that uses (I believe) a c5 reservoir and it all mounts up very similarly to how my stock L03 does. (Alt on top driver side and PS pulley and reservoir right under it)

I have a good working r12 system, with a new compressor that is an upgraded design, scroll type, hence remaining with R4. That could be a whole other post in itself.

While were on this subject... I have a mechman alternator currently on this motor. It's a bolt on stock replacement. I guess that would be CS130? will I be able to use that with the LS?
